Demand for Quebec’s IVF program higher than expected
Quebec’s in vitro fertilization program is more popular than expected. It budgeted $63 million for 7,000 IVF cycles in 2013-14 but it exceeded that level two years ago. The government began paying for three cycles of IVF in 2010 as a way of cutting down the number of multiple births caused by the transfer of a number of embryos in IVF treatments.
