Human enhancement can be described as the natural, artificial, or technological alteration of the human body in order to enhance physical or mental capabilities. It raises moral, medical, legal, and social concerns about its applications in different fields. This webinar explored the implications of this technology for Christians across Canada and how it may affect societal perceptions of what it means to be human. It was organized by the Faith and Life Sciences Reference Group of The Canadian Council of Churches.

Original date: October 14, 2020, 4-5:30 PM EDT

Presenters included Dr. Moira McQueen, moral theologian, University of St. Michael’s College/Canadian Bioethics Institute; Rev. Dr. Tracy Trothen Ethicist, Queen’s University; and Michael Buttrey, doctoral candidate, Christian Ethics, Regis College.
